Friends of the Ballard Locks is a group of volunteers dedicated to preserving the history of the Hiram M. Chitttenden Locks and the Carl S. English, Jr. Botanical Gardens.

The members of our group are organizers and caretakers of the historic artifacts of the Locks and Gardens.  

We are scanning and researching old photographs, documenting artifacts and
creating a finding aid of the collection, all of which we hope to make available to the public online.  This is a unique opportunity to be a part of something big - preserving an important part of Seattle’s history.
